英中对照：语言模糊性翻译精确法

1.模糊法

模糊法指的是把表达模糊含义的英语译为含有模糊意义的汉语。例如：

2.精确法

精确法指的是将英语中表示模糊意义的表达用表示精确意义 的汉语表达出来。例如：

This means that a diesel shunter can work continuously right round the clock, if nccessary, and that main line diesels can be rostered to continuous runs lasting for well over a day.

如果将“a day”译为“一天”，那么会导致语义模糊，读者 有可能理解为“白天”，但是从“right round the clock”可以知道 它实际上指的是“白天和晚上”，因此在译为汉语时应该将此模糊 意义清晰化。译文为：也就是说，内燃调车机车能够不分昼夜连 续运行。如果有必要，千线内燃机车连续运行时间可大大超过一 昼夜。

如果将“dimensions”译为“面积”，“大小”都不够完整， 译为“体积”也欠妥帖，形象性、直观性不够。因此，可将其具 体清晰化以避免语义模糊。全句可译为：路基就是上面铺着道砟、 枕木和钢轨的底基。路基有两种类型，即路垫和路堤。路基应坚 固、排水性好并有足够的面积和厚度。
