外贸函电英语翻译易犯的错误

现列举几个大家平时翻译外贸文章时出错率比较高的几个例子试作分析，仅供读者朋友参考，以免发生相似的错误。

1. 中国民生银行有限公司。

　　译：China Minsheng Banking Corporation, Ltd.

分析：etc.在英文中和and so on ，and others，意思一样并且包含and的成分，所以较正确的译法：Our company exports industrial products, chemicals, medicines, etc.

2. 欢迎您参观交易会。

　　译：Welcome you to visit our fair!

　　分析：此句是祈使句，省略的主语为你(你们)，而原文包含我们的意思。所以较正确的译法： Welcome to our trade fair!

3. 我公司出口工业产品、化工产品、医药等。

　　译：Our company exports industrial products, chemicals, medicines and etc.

　　分析：“Ltd”是limited company的缩写并且包含corporation（有限公司）的意思。所以较正确的译法是：China Minsheng Banking Corporation.

　　4. 项目中标之后，将立即开始前期工作。

　　译：After the bid is awarded, we shall immediately start our advance-phase preparation.

　　分析：通常项目中标有二种译法accept a bid 或 award the contract。而译文把两种表达法相混淆了。所以较正确的译法是：After the bid is accepted (or the contract is awarded), we shall immediately start our advance-phase preparation.

　　5. 由港澳国际投资公司投资的海口电站工程因其建设速度和质量评价。

　　译：The Haikou Power Station Project invested by the Hong Kong-Macau International Investment Co., Ltd. was highly appraised for its construction speed and quality.

分析：投资某项工程的短语为invest in a project，所以较正确的译法是：The Haikou Power Station Project invested in by the Hong Kong-Macau International Investment Co., Ltd. was highly appraised for its construction speed and quality.

 6. 深圳AS拥有5个控股子公司。

　　译：Shenzhen AS Group has 5 share-holding companies.

分析：短语share-holding company的意思是控制或持有某公司股权的股东公司。译文要表达5个公司持有Shenzhen AS Group的股份，显然不符合原中文原意。所以较正确的译法是：Shenzhen AS Group is a holding company of 5 subsidiary companies.

7. 在双方签约之后，各方将遵守本协议。

　　译：After this agreement is signed by the two parties, all parties shall strictly abide by it.

分析：与上一条相类似，在协议当事方为三方(或三方以上)时，用all parties，而当事方仅为两方时用both parties。所以较正确的译法：After this agreement is signed by the two parties, both parties shall strictly abide by it.

    8. 本合同签订之后，签约双方中任何一方都不能将合同内容泄露给第三方。

　　译：Any of the two parties can not divulge the contents of the contract to a third party after the conclusion of the contract.

　　分析： either of the two parties双方中任何一方为，三方(或三方以上)中任何一方才用any of the parties，因本句包含否定的意思，所以较正确的译法：Neither of the two parties can divulge the contents of the contract to a third party after the conclusion of the contract.

9. 将委托贵公司我公司在毛里求斯的代理。

　　译：We hereby entrust your company to be our business agent in Mauritius.

分析：entrust当用作委托这个意思时，应用entrust somebody with something or entrust something to somebody这个短语。所以较正确的译法：We hereby appoint your company to be our business agent in Mauritius.
